 Latest News:

 It’s been a big few weeks in the Unitopian camp.

Firstly, my wonderful wife, Amanda gave birth to a beautiful baby boy, Oliver Gershwin Timms at 5:35pm Australian Central time on Tuesday 24^th November.

Both mother and baby are doing well and we look forward to spending our first Christmas together with him.

Secondly, sadly, Shireen our amazingly talented bass player has had to move on from Unitopia due to work commitments.

We wish her all the best in her future endeavours. She is an amazing lady and she will be missed greatly and will always be a part of the Unitopia family.

The good news is that we have a replacement….proudly presenting….drum roll please…..Mr. Shaun Duncan.

Shaun is an absolutely incredibly talented musician who I have worked with on and off for the past 27 years!

In fact, we are both in a James Taylor tribute band at the moment!

He brings to Unitopia a wealth of experience, dry sense of humour and bass skills that have to be seen to be believed!!!

He plays all manner of basses including 6 string and upright.

Work is progressing really well on our new album ‘Artificial’ with all of the vocals, drums, keys and guitars having been recorded.

We just need to add Shaun’s bass, Tim’s percussion, some sax, flute, live orchestra and backing vocals, then we’ll be ready to mix!

This is going to be our best work yet and we hope that you enjoy listening to it as much as we’re enjoying creating it!

Unitopia to play RosFest, new album in the works, new drummer

Hi fellow Unitopians,

Sorry for such a long time between updates, but we’ve been waiting for just the right time for a few announcements.

As some of you already may know…it’s just been announced that Unitopia will play at next year’s RosFest on Sunday May 2nd.

We are the first Australian band to do so and it will be our first show in North America.

This will also be the premiere and launch of our 3rd album ‘Artificial’.

We are honoured and humbled to be a part of such an amazing event…thanks George!

This performance will kick off a 2 week tour of North America…dates and places TBA…stay tuned!

The new music has been written and demoed and we’re very proud of what we’ve been doing the past few months.

We feel that it’s some of our best work yet.

Ed Unitsky will be creating the new artwork…we’ve seen some previews and it looks absolutely amazing!

Another exciting piece of news is that after many auditions…(drum roll please) Unitopia now has a new drummer!

His name is Jamie Jones and he’s one of Australia’s most talented and respected musicians.

Here are a couple of pics so that you would recognise him if you ran into him in the street!

Solo Sean Timms album, upcoming Unitopia release and tour

Sean has finished work on his first solo orchestral music CD entitled ‘The Gargoyle and other stories – the orchestral music of Sean Timms’. It’s available through CD Baby.

Sean and Mark are currently working on a the next Unitopia CD and rehearsing for some live shows with the possibility of touring Europe and North America within the next 12-18 months.
